About Us

Our mission is to provide up-to-date, accurate, citation-driven resources for medical practices so that coders and practitioners can confidently code for their services.

It’s a problem of time

Physicians don’t want to spend time on coding, coders don’t have time to create detailed educational materials and administrators don’t have time to be compliance experts.

CodingIntel solves these problems.  We simplify complex coding rules and develop in-depth guides and quick reference sheets. Our articles and guides provide authoritative, citation-based resources.  Membership includes a live monthly webinar, on-demand webinars and courses. Physicians have confidence in coding answers, revenue cycle has professional and accurate references and training materials and administrators get a big bang for their buck.

Our beliefs inform our work.

  • We believe we can simplify complex coding rules for medical practices with citation-based resources.
  • We believe our library should include long-form guides, quick reference sheets, articles and videos and that the information should be easy to find and use.
  • We believe in focusing on the specialties we know and not speculation in areas we don’t know.

Our measure of success is when our members have the resources they need to succeed in their practices.

Meet Our Team

Betsy Nicoletti, Founder

For over 20 years, Betsy Nicoletti worked to simplify coding for medical practices. After conducting thousands of meetings with practitioners and reviewing tens of thousands of medical notes, she's learned what questions are most common in medical coding and how to answer them.

Through journal articles, websites, national conventions and more, Betsy strives to help practices collect all of the revenue to which they are entitled while complying with coding and governmental rules.

Betsy holds a Master of Science in Organization and Management from Antioch University, New England, is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and has worked in and around physician offices since the mid-80s. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the AAPC, and is excited to help share her knowledge with you.

Tammy Millard, Operations Manager

Without Tammy, CodingIntel wouldn't exist. She manages everything behind the scenes: content updates, tech support, customer service, and the interactions of more software plug-ins than anyone knew existed. And she does it all calmly and patiently, courteous and professional in all of her interactions. She has incredible tenacity in getting to the bottom of a problem and is always encouraged when she hears how CodingIntel is making our users' jobs easier.

Tammy lives in rural Vermont with her husband. Her two grown children have left the nest. She is active in her church and volunteers in her community.

See below for additional information.

Can I submit coding questions?

Membership does not include a forum or place to submit individual coding questions.

If you are looking for a Q&A service, the AMA offers the CPT® Network and CPT® KnowledgeBase, an internet-based system that provides AMA members and subscribers the tools to quickly research a database of commonly asked CPT coding questions and clinical examples (vignettes). You can also post your question on industry listservs like the AAPC's.

If you are a physician or work for a physician, we suggest asking the physician to send the coding question to his/her specialty society.  Compliance questions should go to the compliance department or medical director, and serious compliance concerns should be handled under attorney-client privilege.
