Please note: Registration closes at 12:00 pm the day before the event. If you miss the registration deadline, you can watch on-demand following the event.

Billing for services involving NPPs presents specific challenges. This webinar will provide an in-depth review of Medicare’s current rules for services involving nonphysician practitioner (NPPs), focusing on the distinctions and documentation requirements for split/shared encounters and incident-to billing. Participants will gain a clear understanding of when each billing method applies, how to determine the correct billing provider, and what supervision and documentation elements are necessary for compliance.

After the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand when each of Medicare's two NPP billing rule sets applies.
  • Explain the key requirements for an NPP service to be considered "incident to" that of a physician
  • Describe the two different methods by which a physician may perform the "substantive portion" of a visit
