Recorded November 18, 2021
While there are only 159 new diagnosis codes in the ICD-10-CM code set, effective October 1, 2021, there are updates to the official guidelines that coders need to know about. Not surprisingly, the guideline changes emphasize specificity. There are new codes for the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and who can document these in order to capture them on the claim form. There is a new code for post-COVID-19 and instructions for its use. This webinar will highlight the new codes and guideline changes for this code set.
After the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Describe where to find the new files and guidelines, and how to interpret them
- Identify new codes relevant to their practices
- Understand how and why to use the SDoH codes
