CMS continues to develop new HCPCS codes to describe services that promote their healthcare agenda, and are not in the CPT® code set. This webinar will address a select few of the newer services from this year and last year, including:
From 2025
- G0537, G0538: ASCVD risk assessment and management
- + G0545: Visit complexity add-on to hospital care by an infectious disease specialist
- + G0559: Post-op care by a practitioner other than the surgeon at an E/M visit
From 2024
- + G2211: Inherent complexity at an office visit
- G0136: Assessment of Social Determinants of Health
Behavioral health services from 2024:
- G0323 Care management services by a clinical psychologist, clinical social worker, mental health counselor or marriage and family therapist
- G0017, G0018 psychotherapy for patients in crisis, other than in an office or facility setting
Behavioral health services from 2025:
- G0544 Post discharge telephone follow up after an ED service for behavioral health or other crisis
- G0560 Safety planning interventions for behavioral health
After the webinar participants will be able to:
- Determine which of these services their practice is performing or can perform
- Describe the coding requirements for the services and for add-on codes, the acceptable base code
- Review documentation for compliance
