She’s written for Physicians Practice, Family Practice Management, Medscape and the Journal of Practice Management, and writes a popular blog, NicolettiNotes. Her coding education sessions for medical practitioners are fast paced, accurate and engaging, resulting in increased coding accuracy and clarity for clinicians. Her webinars and in person presentations simplify complex coding rules.
Betsy estimates that in the last 20 years her audience members have numbered over 28,400 at in person events and webinars. She has had 2,500 meetings with clinical providers. She reads for a living, reads physician notes that is. She has reviewed over 43,000 medical notes and counting. Betsy is an experienced auditor and advises practices who are being scrutinized by their private payers or the government. She is an expert on E/M notes created by EMR systems.
She holds a Master of Science in Organization and Management from Antioch University, New England, and has worked in and around physician offices since mid-80s. Betsy is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the AAPC.
