Independent Review Entities review inpatient records for diagnostic accuracy and DRG determinations. This case-study focused webinar will describe important ICD-10-CM Guidelines that establish the rules for these decisions. These cases are from appeals, so represent more difficult situations. Dr. Alexander will review the ICD-10-CM principal and describe the clinical scenarios. Then, you’ll have the opportunity via poll questions to select the diagnoses.
After the webinars, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key ICD-10-CM guidelines that guide this coding
- Describe what importance of the principal diagnosis
- Know how to manage co-equal diagnoses
